Troy Corser completes a new kind of 4K run
Troy Corser (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) was already the record points scorer in the Superbike World Championship before the Nürburgring round in early September, but he broke through the 4,000 points barrier at the German round, reaching 4,001.5 by the end of the day.

In honour of this new high watermark for any individual rider Infront Motor Sports' Paolo Ciabatti presented Troy with a special commemorative trophy on the grid at the Imola WSBK race last weekend.

After the Italian race Troy now has 4,005.5 career points, with the next highest scorer being Noriyuki Haga with 3668. Four time champion Carl Fogarty has 3020, Aaron Slight 2834.5, Troy Bayliss 2442, Colin Edwards 2393.5, Pierfrancesco Chili 2381.5 and recent retiree James Toseland 2098. Only those eight riders have scored over 2,000 points.

An impressive 23 riders have scored more than 1000 championship points to date.
